Dig Deep. Celebrate Trés Bonne Année.

June 9, 2010

Trés Bonne Année kicked off a new season of giving during a press conference on Wednesday, June 9 at 11:30 AM in front of the Hilton Harrisburg. The community at large was welcomed with complimentary food and wine.

This year, Très Bonne Année presents: “Indelible Impressions: Rooted in Tradition”. “Indelible Impressions” is a reflection on terroir, the French term describing how the unique geology, history and culture of soil impart unique characteristics upon wine. Like the best wine, we, too, are flavored by the conditions of our upbringing. Our experiences with family, friends and community all influence our character.

This theme was brought to life during the event. The public and the press experienced the unexpected splendor of the vineyard – it’s grit and dirt juxtaposed with the crisp elegance of Très Bonne Année fetes.

Bill Kohl, President of Trés Bonne Année and President and CEO of Harrisburg Hotel Corporation and Hilton Harrisburg, kicked things off by welcoming guests and announcing last year’s contribution to Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts. A check for $378,000, the total amount raised last year, was displayed during the event.

Honored guests of Très Bonne Année—Louis Restivo of Biagio Cru & Estate and John Profaci, Sr. of Colavita USA—shared their rich family history and world travels related to food and wine. Those in attendance had the chance to win prizes from the family of wines and olive oils that Lou and John represent.

“We are delighted to welcome Louis Restivo and John Profaci, Sr., as honored guests for Très Bonne Année,” said Michael Hanes, president and CEO of Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts. “On behalf of Whitaker Center, we are grateful to all the people and organizations, particularly our honored guests, which make these events such an incredible success story.”

“Indelible Impressions: Rooted in Tradition” is a celebration of the craft and culture of Biagio Cru & Estate and Colavita USA,” said Bill Kohl, president of Très Bonne Année. “Their passion for wine, food and family connects the fine wines of Très Bonne Année with the greater cause of supporting Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts.”
